Ferry trips
My first ferry trip memories originate from early 1980s when I traveled the strike Vaasa-Uumaja. I got really interested in ferry cruises in the first years of the millennium, and started to have first one trip per year and then a lot more often. Now, as I live in Tampere (closer to the ports), I have some kind of a ship trip almost every month.
An important reason to my liking is the fact that traveling with ferries is so easy and hassle-free for me as a wheelchair user. Another motive is to be able to combine two dear hobbies - traveling and photographing. As you can see at the Joni's shipphotos section, I take a huge number of photos on most ferry trips.
I have also a special interest in luxury cabins. I do enjoy a little luxury, but the main reason is that in most standard cabins there is simply not enough room for my wheelchair.
